(again) Lantern Rec (LANR 004) 180 gram vinyl coming in March with amended sleeve art "forerunners of the british dub scene the two bands shared several members, a who’s who of the on u-sound school and key figures of the bristol and london scene. adrian sherwood is – obviously – the man behind the desk a craftsman on its own, a character with no borders and one of the most sought after producer of the time. the supergroup is ran by post-punk stalwarts bruce smith (the pop group) on drums and keith levene (pil) on guitar. ari up of the slits sits on piano and organ, while masters crucial tony is both on bass and guitars. members of african head charge – bass player george oban, eskimo fox and style scott on drums – are welcomed addition to the line-up. threat to creation is still recognizable as an album ahead of its time, a futuristic blend filling the gap between the jamaican heritage, the so-called (post) industrial revolution and the studio witchery of the whitey man"

Nice spot; have Lantern acquired Cherry Red stuff then? I thought they were still a going concern, well at least the name anyway! Does this bode for releases of the other stuff? And what was used to master it, or did they just take their CD reissue and press to vinyl?

Still not sure if this is actually released yet - it shows as 'out of stock' at Juno and Rough Trade, but Amazon have it for pre-order, so I just grabbed one there

Mmmm, "Postage to: Worldwide Excludes: Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Scilly Isles, Isle of Wight, Europe, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine, Mauritius"
So "This item doesn't post to Netherlands" I wonder Y, but then again... I don't bother, i'm quite satisfied with my original vinyl copy from 1981.

It is a rather odd list of exclusions. I wish I waited a day or two and bought it from Juno (the second link) - would've been quicker And I still won't believe it's really 'out there' until I hold a copy in mine hands...

It exists! Officially grey marbled vinyl buts looks more like clear vinyl with smokey bits in it Not sure you'll see the detail from the picture but I did an actual LOL when I saw the 'Producer, Other [Disassembled By] - Adrian Sherwood' credit on the revamped back cover - someone obviously got their info from Discogs - don't like those square brackets!

...and I meant to add that I haven't played it yet so don't know if the quality of the vinyl and 'remastering' is the same as the Playgroup one - i.e. crap

I've always thought it was a very patchy album, but worth the admission price for the London Underground track alone
