Finally got a copy in hand (the Playgroup that is, not Threat To Creation) A bit strange that Lantern have excised all the credits on the rear cover, so no studio or engineer credits, no sleeve design and photography by Kishi credit and no mention of Sherwood, aside from once on the sticker on the shrinkwrap

Gave this a spin last night and what a disappointment! Noisy vinyl to start with, and as for Digitally Remastered, as trumpeted on the sticker on the shrink - whatever that actually means - by who - the cleaner on their lunch break? Very weak sound with a distinct lack of bass. To make sure it wasn't just me I pulled out the original Cherry Red release along with the Spanish Edigsa and the German white vinyl - all infinitely better sounding, and there's the bass! Oh well - doesn't bode well for Threat To Creation... Bring back Herbstalk Metcalfe!

I do rather hope he's enjoining is retirement and doesn't get enticed back into the business. He's done his penance, and more ...

Surely just a few bits of equipment in his shed and the occasional job for his old mates just to keep his eye in!
