I'm looking for tracks which feature variants of the lyric "I see the world through different eyes". It originates, I think, from a Fats Comet session, and as a left-over it was used on the tune that Barker and Sherwood did at Southern Studios ~1986 that never got released (see www.mixcloud.com/OnURoast/steve-barker-on-the-wire-interview-exclusives/ about 32:45) The line then emerges as "Different Eyes" on Late Night Endless, but the vocal there had actually been recorded for the 2Badcard Meets The Ghetto Priest "Earthquake In The Heart Of Rome" album (unreleased, some featured in the Ramses show that was lately posted). GP's version is here: soundcloud.com/ghetto-priest/ghetto-priest-different-eyesHowever, I thought I'd heard it again more recently on something else, but I be mistaken and it might just have been I played the GP one. So let me know if you think you know any other tracks that use that lyric! As an aside, the Soundcloud link claims lyrics were by Jeb Loy Nicols, but it seems unlikely to me he wrote the "I see the world through different eyes" line itself (likely something Skip came up with), also note in the GP version he sings the line "I see you in the church on Sunday; there is no love left in their hearts on Mondays", based on the lines in Purify Your Heart (presumably written by Johnny Osbourne).

Dub Syndicate "Let The Spirit Rise". Oh very good, that one I had totally forgotten about! My Selection Vol 3 doesn't play on my CD player so I don't know a lot of those so well. Do we know who the voice is (not Perry, /obvs/)? Cunning!

Found another. Little Axe live session Paul Jones Nov 2004, Skip did "Different Eyes" there using it again.
That lead me to my minidisc collection of works-in-progress little axe albums, and I have that title on MDs from Aug99, Jan00, and Oct01, which would be tracks for Hard Grind, but seems it never made it to the final one.
So I think the 'complete' list, at least so far is:
the original Fats Comet session (Skip vocal, unrel) Barker and Sherwood - I See The World Through Different Eyes (sampling above, 3 versions, unrel) Dub Syndicate "Let The Spirit Rise" (Gary Williams vocal) Little Axe "Different Eyes" (new Skip vocal, ~3 versions, unrel) Little Axe "Different Eyes" (live, Paul Jones session) 2Badcard Meets The Ghetto Priest "Different Eyes" from unreleased "Earthquake In The Heart Of Rome" album Sherwood & Pinch "Different Eyes" from Late Night Endless (sampling the Ghetto Priest vocal + Lizzy Bowman)

I *think* I've heard another Ghetto Priest variation, but it might just be from the unreleased 2BC album and as played on some show at some point... As you were
