Read on: www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_detail.lasso?search_type=sku&sku=343942#"Pre-order 7" for a wristband to the On-U Sound Rough Trade anniversary party on the 27th of October. Super limited 300 copies reissue with facsimile artwork of the rare Australian release. 30 years ago On U Sound issued its first 7", a cover of Junior Byles' 'Fade Away' by the post-punk dub supergroup New Age Steppers, a shadowy collective consisting of the recently, sadly departed ex-Slits singer Ari Up and cohorts (label boss Adrian Sherwood, Mark Stewart of the Pop Group, Keith Levene to name a few). To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the pioneering dub-punk label Rough Trade shop's in-house imprint for us has remastered and reissued this landmark 7" with brand new b-side 'Conquer.' 'Fade Away' is a powerful slice of abstract dub nailed to the floor by a stellar, heartfelt vocal performance by Ari Up. Duetting with spaced out echoes and ghostly pianos Ari intones 'the rich are getting richer everyday and the little the poor have got it shall be taken away,' and you realise that 30 years have passed but not much has changed. Both sides are a masterclass in space and groove and should not be missed this time around."

It's been well played - just as records are supposed to be - rather than sealed up in a museum. Great stuff!
