Deeder left Asian Dub Foundation at the end of 2000 to start work on his own projects. In 2001 he formed Rebel Uprising, working closely with vocalist Trevor Boucaud aka Passion and Dennis Rootical, bass player of UK soundsystem Iration Steppas
In 2008 Deeder released his first album as a solo artist, Minority Large (under the name Deeder Zaman) in Japan on the BeatInk record label, collaborating with artists such as producer Brendan Lynch and Tony Penultimate of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
Deeder, with Passion, Dennis, and the legendary dub producer/soundman Adrian Sherwood, founder of On-U Sound Records, started work on his second album 'Pride of the Underdog'. Collaborators on the album include Skip McDonald, guitarist and vocalist of Little Axe and Tackhead, The Crispy Horns, Dr Das, former bass player of ADF, Ghetto Priest, reggae vocalist from the On U Sound stables, tabla player Alok Verma, percussionist Devon White, guitarist Louie Beckett, producer Simon Haenggi, keyboard player of the Scrucialists and vocalist Elaine Cheng
